Bart Whitney has a long history in and beyond the hospitality industry.  As a native to New England with relatives owning and operating restaurants, he got an early start working front and back of house positions.  UNC-Wilmington recruited Whitney to play golf, and with degrees in economics and finance Bart began his professional career in banking.  Subsequently, Whitney spent time with Coca-Cola Bottling out of Charlotte where he had 13 positions in 8 years.  With a young family and no desire to relocate, he joined a corporate identity and brand consulting firm where he worked with companies such as Kraft, Kellogg’s, Toyota, Sara Lee, Unilever and many more.

 

Bart’s entrepreneurial spirit took over at that point.  He started his own consultancy where he continued to help companies large and small while simultaneously starting a golf company focused on helping junior golfers and their families.  Bart coached more than 50 seasons of youth and High School sports and is a member of the NC High School Coaches Hall-of-Fame.

 

Opportunity struck for Bart and his Uncle to join forces on a concept together in Southend Charlotte.  Their combined efforts paved the way to join Mason Jar Group and a successful evolution of the business to what is now The Union.  Having past positions at The Union and a year of accounting work for the company, Bart is currently serving as the GM for Bargarita in NoDa.  Expecting exponential growth in the coming year, you will find Bart and his team trying to throw the best party every night.

 

When he isn’t working, Bart and his wife can be found looking for fun at the beach or in the mountains.
